Sherry was born to the late S. O. Clay, Jr. and Jewel Adcock Clay on January 6, 1944. She was 78 years old at the time of her death.
She was a member of First Baptist Church – Madison. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was known for her love and concern for others; for her Ole Miss Rebels, and for all animals, great and small.
Her claim to fame was being a "Mam" and "Mam-Mam" to not only to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but to the many who knew her and loved her so.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. H. Leo Russell, Sr; her son, Tim McAdory; sisters, Barbara Ann Clay and Mary Clay Sullivan; brothers, Steve Clay and Marlon Clay; brothers-in-law, J. W. Sullivan, Sr. and Voyce H. Bailey; niece, Candy Revette; nephews, Stevie Clay and Bill Sullivan, as well as a number of beloved pets.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie (Greg) King; grand-daughter, Kristen (Brett) James; grandson, Ben (Ashley) Herrington; great grand-daughter, Hallie Herrington; great-grandson, Walker James; sister, Margarette Bailey and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved Yorkie, Roscoe.
Memorials in memory of Sherry may be given to any of her favorite charities, which include Samaritan’s Purse; Tunnel2Towers; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Mississippi Heart Association, Community Animal Rescue & Adoption (CARA), Mississippi Animal Rescue League, or to your choice of charity.

Visitation for Sherry will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with funeral services following at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
