Our beloved Raymond Marvin Taylor, 70, passed away at University Hospital on Sunday morning, June 22, 2014 after a brief and sudden illness.
Ray was born on July 12, 1943 in Columbus, MS to the late Charles Taylor and Elizabeth Cocke Taylor. He was retired a carman with IC Railroad and enjoyed gunsmithing and fishing. Ray was a unique soul who will always be remembered by his family and friends for making people laugh and playing jokes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Helen F. Taylor; sons, Timothy Neal Taylor and Christopher Scott Taylor; daughters, Donna Rogers (Ronnie), Diann Sollie (Billy), and Debbie Ditta (Vic); 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Patterson and wife; and beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Patches.
Funeral services will be held at Lakewood South Funeral Home (430 McCluer Rd., Jackson, MS) on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow in Lakewood South Memorial Park.
