Oliver L. Stringer passed away at the University of Mississippi Medical Center on March 13, 2022 at the age of 91. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with the funeral service to follow. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Stringer proudly served in the US Army from 1948 to 1968. After he was enlisted, he met and married the love of his life, Rosie Jeannette. Following his retirement from the Army, he began his second career as a truck driver. In the mid-1990s, he retired from driving and was able to spend more time than ever with his family which was something that brought him much joy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Jeanette Stringer and granddaughter, Jennifer Stringer. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Stringer (Brenda); daughter, Reda Ainsworth; granddaughters, Melany (Greg) Allen, Meredith Robinson, Angela Stringer; and grandson, Chad Ainsworth. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Payton Polk, Kylee Edwards, Bailey Hennington, Ross Gordon, Sydney Robinson, Hatti and Huck Ainsworth.
