Margaret Abou King

Margaret Abou King, 91, passed away peacefully early in the morning of March 7, 2023, in her home at Castlewoods Place, Brandon, MS. Service will be held in the parlor at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Lakewood Funeral Home. The family is grateful to the staff of Castlewoods Place for the care provided since she moved in for assistance.

Margaret was born on June 6, 1931, in Jackson, MS. She graduated in 1949 from Central High School. She married Joe O. King at age 22 and they were married for sixty-seven years until his passing in 2021. Her career was homemaker and bookkeeper of their business, Joe King Services. Though she retired to the Brandon Reservoir area in the 1980s, the years spent with the people of Rolling Fork, MS were special memories. Her close relationships always included her neighbors and their pets. Favorite pastimes in retirement were gardening and sitting on her deck enjoying the water view.

Margaret is survived by daughters, Kathy (Kenny) Lovett, Jo Lynn (James Kent) King, and sister-in-law, Donna Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Terrin Abou and Anita Abou Ghetti, and brother, Leon V. Ghetti.
