Lena Mae Allen Karstens

Lena Mae Karstens, 86, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at St. Catherine’s Village, Madison, MS. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 14, 2011, at 11:30am at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home High Street, Friday from 9:30am till 11:00am.

Mrs. Karstens was born in Collins, MS, January 21, 1924. She was a longtime member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. She retired from Sunburst Bank Trust Department after more than 20 years of service. She has lived most her life in Jackson, MS. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, reading and visiting family and her six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allen E. Karstens Sr. and her two brothers Ethan and George Allen.

Survivors include her son Dr. Allen E. and wife Laurie Karstens of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter, Shirley and husband Robert Reynolds of Brentwood, TN; six grandchildren, Walker, Anna Katherine and Ethan Karstens, Robert, Paul and David Reynolds.
