James Smith (Joe) Randle passed from this life to his eternal home in heaven on October 9, 2015. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS on Monday, October 12 from 5:00-7:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Griffith Memorial Baptist Church, 5275 Terry Rd, Jackson, MS on Tuesday, October 13 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Joe Randle was born in Okolona, MS to Paul and Ruby Brewer Randle on September 9, 1925. He graduated from Wren High School. He was eighteen when he enlisted in the Army and fought in World War II in the European theatre including the Battle of the Bulge. After the war he met and married the love of his life Ethelene Tubb in 1946 and would have celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary June 1, 2016. He was a loving husband and father to his three daughters. His faith and dependence on Christ was a witness to all who knew him. He was an active member of Daniel Memorial and Griffith Memorial Baptist Churches, serving in various positions of service including chairman of deacons. He was an avid Ole Miss fan, who attended many games.
Joe Randle is survived by his wife, Ethelene Tubb Randle of Clinton, MS; daughters, Susan Grames (Bob), Lisa Modisett (Dan); son in law, Alon Bee; grandchildren, Shelley and Robby Grames (Susie), Joe (Ashley) and Nick Modisett, Blake Bee and Paige Bee Dodgen (Cass); great grandchildren, Will, Micah, Mary Noel, Mollie and Isaiah Grames, Isabella, Evie and Rhett Modisett, happily awaiting the birth of his ninth great grandchild Carr Dodgen and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruby Brewer Randle; daughter, Vicki Jo Randle Bee; siblings, Francis Allen, Bill Randle and Josephine Booth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Griffith Memorial Baptist Church, 5275 Terry Rd., Jackson, MS 39212. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to his church members, friends and family who faithfully ministered to him.
