Florence Dean

Florence Dean, 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Monday, June 6 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow.

Mrs. Dean was born on November 14, 1927 in Cunningham, Kansas. She was the last of 11 children born to the late Casper and Irene Lingg Schnittker. She proudly served as a nurse for over 50 years and after her retirement she volunteered as a pink lady. She was a devoted Catholic who was very active in the church in many different capacities such as becoming a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and, up until she was 85, she was active in water aerobics. There wasn’t a holiday that passed where she didn’t take the opportunity to decorate to the max. Flo was the epitome of a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend- she was the true matriarch of her family and will be sorely missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William F Dean; daughter, Linda Bounds; parents and 10 siblings.

Mrs. Dean is survived by her daughters, Debbie Phillips (Jimmy), Kathy Dean, and Tammy Morris (Vance Jensen); son-in-law, Dennis Bounds; grandchildren, Kristin, Abbey, Amy, Dean, Lucas and Nicholas; and her great grandchildren, Ainsley, Chandler, Lillie and Chloe.
