Doyle T Turner, Sr., 76, of Vicksburg, passed away on Thursday January 11, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Louisville, MS to the late Dixie William Turner and Annie Elizabeth Reed Turner. Doyle grew up in Yazoo City, MS. At the age of 16 he went to work with Illinois Central/Canadian National Railroad Company where he was employed for the next 46 years and was known to everyone as "Abe". As we remember Doyle Truman Turner, Sr., let us celebrate a life well lived, marked by love, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Beyond his professional life, Doyle found solace in his passion for hunting and fishing. Some of his fondest memories include teaching his boys the art of hunting and fishing, creating lasting bonds through shared experiences in nature.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 35 years, Edna Young Turner. Children, Tonya Lucas, Doyle Turner, Jr (Taylor), Kristopher Turner (Lindsey), siblings Avie James and Lora Brock, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 8 sisters.
