David Turman, 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church Clinton on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Turman was born on September 1, 1940 in Houston, MS. He worked for many years with materials management in the automotive industry before retiring as Director of Materials Management at River Oaks Hospital. David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an excellent cook and gardener. David was very proud to have worked alongside his father-in-law in constructing most of the original wooden structures along the paths of the Clinton Community Nature Center. He was a loyal Clinton Arrow supporter who was actively involved in athletics and school activities. More than anything else, David treasured his family and loved the time he spent with them.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Clements Turman; parents, Alma and Letha Turman; and brothers, Maxey, Raymond and James Robert Turman.
Mr. Turman is survived by his wife, Debbie McDonald Turman; children, Nancy Skelton (Tommy), Gail Jackson (Glen), Grady Turman, Sr. (Missa), and their mother, Barbara Brent; grandchildren, Beth Junkins (Josh), Mary Kathryn Murphy (Michael), Melissa Johnson (Justin), Layne Fumo (Eduardo), Peyton Jackson, Will Jackson, Grady Turman, Jr. (Abbey) and Darby Turman; and 7 great grandchildren. He also appreciated the friendship and care of Vina Burkett.
