Clyde Lynelle Woods Thomas was born on February 4, 1927, to Irma Bazoon Woods and Clyde Emmett Woods in Jackson, Mississippi. Growing up she was very much a daddy’s girl and loved taking care of his hunting dogs. She was also an avid tennis player.
After graduating from Central High School, Lynelle was employed with Michael Baker Engineering Firm, where she designed the alignment and direction of telephone poles. Later, she was employed with AT&T as a draftsman, a position that she held for 31 years until her retirement.
While working for AT&T, Lynelle met and later married Elmer Thomas. Their marriage lasted 62 years until his death. They were blessed with three boys, Dave, Phillip, and Daryl.
Lynelle was a lifelong member of Jackson First Baptist Church until her health began to fail.
She is preceded in death, by her parents, Clyde and Irma Woods; and three sisters, Rose Powers, Virginia King, and Dorothy Lowe.
Lynelle is survived by her three sons, Dave Thomas; Phillip Thomas (Debbie); Daryl Thomas (Dora); and two grandsons, Ryan Thomas and Jimmy Thomas.
