Clara Nell Branning

Clara Nell Branning, age 95, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Boulevard, in Jackson with Rev. Chip McArthur leading the service. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral beginning at 10 am.

Nell was born to Clarence and Opal Edgeworth at Amory, Mississippi on May 25, 1929. She had four children: Doug (Becky), Donna McArthur (Chip), James Lee (Carla), and Joe Marc (Debbie).

She was preceded in death in by her husband, Jim Branning, and son, Doug. She is survived by children, Donna, Lee, and Joe in addition to seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Nell was a former member of Alta Woods Presbyterian, Pearl Presbyterian, and then upon her death, of Olivet Presbyterian in McConnells, South Carolina. She enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening, and making cheese straws.

She was a resident of Westminster Towers Retirement Community in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, Mississippi 39745.
