Charles was a friend of mine at Murrah and at Ole Miss.  He was easy-going and had a smile always.  I recall his love for the outdoors, including hunting and fishing.  He also loved Ole Miss very much.  We had many good times while in Oxford as students there.  My condolences to Charles' relatives and loved ones.  Godspeed, Charles, and may you rest in God's eternal peace.

I just heard of Charlie's passing yesterday, I am terribly sorry for your loss.  I met Charlie in 2001 at a skeet shoot in Jackson, MS and we became friends shortly thereafter.  Charlie always had a big smile on his face that was contagious. We had some great laughs at skeet tournaments.  He will be missed.

Charles was in my class at Murrah.  He was such a nice guy and had forgotten until I saw his class picture again what a nice looking young man.  Really saddens us all to hear of a friend and classmate passing.  Sorry so many years went by and didn't see Charles.

Have known Charlie for 30 years, and honored to have assisted him in his tax and financial matters along the way. What a great guy, I cannot recall a single time that I saw him when he didn't have that great smile and upbeat attitude. A heart of gold. A super Ole Miss Rebel. The Good Lord has his hands full now, but it will be fun!

Saw Charles the day he got back from his last hunting trip to Argentina, said he had a great trip and shot a lot of birds.  So glad he got one more trip in before he passed away.

I haven't seen Charles in a few years as I moved out of state. But he was the rare type that remained and remains in my mind as a smiling, loving, soul

Pete & Ann--we were so sorry to read about Charles' death. We have such good memories of growing up next door to your family and Charles played a large part in those memories. I still think about those Sunday afternoons at your Mom's with Bloody Marys, her fabulous cornbread and Charles bursting in with something funny to say to everyone. He will be missed. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

My condolences to the family. I have many great memories of skeet shooting with Charlie at Capital Gun Club and in many other tournaments across the country.

Pete, 
You have my sympathy.  Chunk was always someone I looked up to from the first time I heard about your older brother. (I think that was when we were in elementary school). I know you will miss him. The rest of us will too.

Pete, I'm sorry to hear about Charles.  I remember him in our younger days and what a character he was.  I remember he had an old Army Jeep that nobody could touch but him and you always said, "Don't even mention the word Jeep when Charles is around."  I wish you and your family much comfort, peace, and many happy memories of Charles to get you through this difficult time.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Charles and I have been friends for 35 or so years. I thought so much of him and have not had contact with him since my dad's funeral in 2007. I regret that I have not. He had been on my mind for the last few months. He was a dear fun person who was good to everybody. I cater and I have a job tomorrow and I will not be at the service which I regret. My prayers and sympathy to all of his family.

There are moments when no gesture or words of sympathy seem adequate.  We have so many fond memories of you and Chunk.  

May God provide you enough strength to face these difficult times and to ease the loss of Charlie. Just know that you are very close in our thoughts and prayers.

Charlie was one of the most genuine people I met at Ole MIss and always had a friendly word and smile.  He will be missed. Jimmy S. Jackson

Chunk came into my late husbands (Carroll) and my life in the late sevenths. Have many fond memories of the two of them. Deer camp, cooking or just being buddies. They let me tag along. One of his quotes "Wake up Alice, come out of the tunnel" is now quoted by our grandsons. Peace be with you. Jo Sharp

Praying for your family and your loss.  Charlie was a skeet shooting buddy of my Dad's many years ago.  I hadn't seen him for more than 30 years until he came to the funeral for my Dad.  Now they can tell stories together again.
