Betty Lou Puckett, 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, in Madison, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Puckett dedicated her life to her family. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Jackson. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the PETROL Bridge Club. Cooking, gardening, and involvement with the Girl Scouts were activities she loved. Mrs. Puckett was a resident at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison for the last nine years.
Mrs. Puckett is preceded in death by her parents, TJ Kirkland and Tennie Carr Kirkland; husband, Toxey M. Puckett; brothers, Glynn Kirkland and Bennie Kirkland; son-in-law, Jim Webb; sister-in-law, Polly Norris Bell. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Alexander (Doug) and Sibyl Webb; brother-in-law, Terry Puckett (Janice); sister-in-law, Carol Kirkland; grandchildren, Chad M. Dacus (JT Galloway), Keith Dacus (Kelley), Darel Dacus (Heather), James Webb (Stephanie), and Whitney Mangina (Matt); great-grandchildren, Alec Dacus, Annemarie Dacus, Clayton Dacus, Mary Stella Mangina, Polly Mangina, Trey Webb, Sam Webb, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Catherine’s Village; Dr. Jon Beall, Dr. Holland Addison, and Gina Seago with Premier Medical Group; and Maggie Dowell with Compassus Hospice.
