Betty J Hearn

Betty Jo Hearn passed away on February 28, 2019, in Brandon, Mississippi. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Bill Hearn; son, Gary Freeman; daughter and son-in-law: Jeannie (Freeman) and Mark Ross; son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Pam Freeman; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Lucie Waddell; grandchildren: Clancy (Freeman) Hawkins and Ben Freeman; Hayley and Olivia Ross, Tyler and Paige Freeman; and five great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband of 28 years, Benjamin Freeman; second husband of 20 years, Bill Washburn; and brother, David Waddell.

Betty was a dedicated elementary teacher with Jackson Public Schools for 26 years. She was also a loyal member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, where she was a long-time member of the choir. Additionally, Betty served in many volunteer and leadership roles throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 7 at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS. Visitation at 10:30 am, Service at 11am.
