Angela Hupperich

Angela was born on December 26, 1957, and departed this world on September 1, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. To those who knew her, Angela was a light, with a sparkle in her eyes that hinted at the depth of her insight. Her gaze held a quiet knowing—an understanding that saw beyond words and actions. It was a look that said, "I see you, I know you, and even when you stumble over life’s silly mistakes, I love you anyway." Her wisdom was never judgmental but always compassionate, a subtle nod to the truth without the need for further explanation, and a playful defiance of convention.

Conversations with Angela were a delight, whether about the profound or the mundane. She was beguiling, charming, and unapologetically stole the show in the theater of life. Her laughter was infectious, and her full-body hugs were legendary. She had a knack for finding joy in others’ happiness and couldn’t contain her giggles, especially when propriety demanded it. Angela was quick to tears, but those tears reflected her deep empathy and boundless love.

Angela dedicated her life to serving others, working in public service and as an IT technician for the State of Mississippi. Her colleagues and friends will remember her for her extraordinary sense of humor, her wisdom, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and heard.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elberta Clovis Pennington and Herbert Leonard Hupperich, Sr., her stepfather, Robert Pennington, and sister Linda Carol Chisholm, and stepbrother Dale Dickerson. Angela leaves behind her cherished daughter, Meghan Johnson, son-in-law Jacob, and her six grandchildren: James, Alley, Connor, Jayden, Jelani, and Judah. She is also survived by her stepmother Hilda Hupperich, two older brothers, Herbert Jr., and Charles, and stepsister Darlene Page, as well as her nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will forever miss her.

Angela’s life was a celebration of love, laughter, and connection. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and joy that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who truly knew her.

A visitation for Angela will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Angela will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, Mississippi 39209.
