Shameka Lajuan Oliver was born December 2nd, 1989 in Jackson, Michigan to her mother, Salonda R. Oliver and Mark A. Brown. Shameka departed from this life at her home on May 28th, 2020. Shameka accepted Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord. Shameka often attended service at Holy Light Baptist Church under the leadership of her uncle, Reverend J.C. Oliver in Battle Creek, Michigan. Shameka had two favorite songs, “Never Could Have Made It” and “You Can’t Run, You Can’t Hide”. Shameka graduated from Jackson High School in 2008 where she loved working in the medical field. Shameka loved her four girls unconditionally where she always dressed them with matching outfits. Shameka loved helping others and always had a refreshing smile. She loved her mother and siblings with unconditional love and often showered them with many gifts. Shameka was employed at Rennissance Northland Home where she was a supervisor. She loved her job and always loved taking care of her residents and others. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Aron and Elmira Oliver and Willie Mae Hardrick; grandparents, Dorothy (Hardrick) Oliver and Yvonne Dammons; aunt, Amanda Oliver and uncle, Joseph Oliver; great uncle, Clarence Hardrick and special cousins, Shakeya Flowers and Carl Reynolds, Jr. as well as others. She leaves to cherish her memories her four beautiful, loving daughters, Antaneja, Amariajah, Amarionna Oliver-Ruff and Asiajanae Oliver-Gamble; her loving mother, Salonda R. Oliver; her father, Mark A. Brown; grandfather, Joe Willie (Bertha) Oliver; grandmother, Pamelia (Chubby Harold) Terrell; sisters, Shaquilla, Shalaya, Amanda, Toya, Naomi, Kaye, Markalay, Kiara, Cyearra, Janealla; brothers, Marcus, Lil Daryl, Montrese, Markel and Orlando; Godmom, Stacy Milligan of Colorado Springs; her longtime best friend, Elyssa Eubanks; her lifelong special friend, Antwone Ruff; a special aunt, Trisha Oliver; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousin’s families and friends. Shameka’s greatest joy was helping others. She had a heart full of gold. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed forever. The family will receive friends at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (406 First Street Jackson, 49201) on Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. Visitors are asked to wear masks and will be admitted in limited numbers, in accordance with CDC regulations. A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 12:00 pm.
