Ruby Lee Bailey

Passed away at her home under the care of her family and Elara Caring Hospice on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the age of 90. She will be remembered by her children, Linda (Virgil) Mays, Robert (Grace) Gilbert, Audrey Lusby, Wanda Blodgett; 15 grandchildren; many many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Ronnie Gipson as well as several nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kernie Bailey; 10 siblings, Forest Green Adams, James Gipson, Thelma Jean Emmons, Anna Marie Webb, Arlene Gipson, Larance Gipson, Eva Gay Gipson, Martha Jean Gipson, Sara Marie Gipson and Jimmy Gipson. Ruby was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on July 28, 1933 to Dewey and Viola Gipson and grew up in the South. She relocated to Jackson, Michigan in the 1990’s to be close to family. She was a hardworking woman. She spent her career on a farm. She enjoyed driving the tractor and working in the fields. Ruby also had a big heart. She loved everyone and she would do whatever she could to help others. She always had a garage sale and would actually give things away to those in need. Ruby touched the hearts and lives of many. She will be greatly missed. A Funeral Service will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, 49202) on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Munith, Michigan.
