He is survived by his wife of 54 ½ years, Sheila Sisk; children, Valerie (Dennis) Lashley, Jake Sisk and Lori (Chad) Rumsey; five grandchildren, Zachary Lashley, Aaron (Paige) Lashley, Hailey Sisk, Hannah Sisk and Joshua (Chloe) Sisk; two great grandchildren, Zander and Holden; with one on the way; special niece, Carolyn Osborne, special cousin, Shirley Stutzman, and special friend, Tom Hunt as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by four siblings, Billy Sisk, Betty Gerry, Barbara Leutz and Sonny Sisk. Bob was born in Jackson, Michigan on August 9, 1945 to Celen and Rose (Phipps) Sisk. Two weeks after graduating from Vandercook Lake High School in 1963, Bob attended one year of barber school in Flint. He returned to Jackson, where he owned and operated a successful Barber Shop. Bob and Sheila were married on May 7, 1966 and together they raised a family. Bob was a Barber! He never met anyone that was a stranger for more than a minute. For the 20 minutes someone sat in his chair they were the most important person in the world. If Bob fed you or teased you, he liked you. If he gave you a nickname, he REALLY liked you. He enjoyed sports and was an avid bowler. He was the youngest bowler inducted into the Jackson Bowling Hall of Fame. He belonged to the Vandercook Lake Lions Club and played Euchre in the Michigan Center Masonic Temple League for 35 years. Every year he spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Michigan High School Football State finals with his grandson and a group of buddies. It was never complete without a stop at Bates Burgers. Bob enjoyed people and practical jokes. He touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered. According to his wishes cremation has been chosen. The family will receive friends at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (406 First Street Jackson, 49201) on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 1:00 until 5:00 for a memorial visitation. In celebration of Bob’s life and friendship please wear red (his favorite color). A special thank you to Becky and Sondra of Arbor Home Hospice for the great care and support. Donations can be made in Bob’s name to the Vandercook Lake Lions Club.
Currently no one else will be getting into Heaven this week as things are backed up while Bob tells St. Peter his many jokes and stories.
