Of Jackson, MI passed away on June 21, 2024 at the age of 81. Perry was born on October 16, 1942 in Paducah, KY to parents Freddy and Nell Clemons. Perry was an exceptional guitarist. In his early years, he performed in the band The Frontiersmen with his father Freddy Clemons. Later he played in the band Country Express. Over the years, he has performed with many great singers and musicians, bringing joy and inspiration to many. His passion for music didn't stop at performing. Perry was also a devoted guitar teacher who mentored students of all ages at Playford Music, sharing his knowledge and igniting a lifelong love for music in many. Perry's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. One of his favorite scriptures being John 3:16. Perry's memory will forever resonate in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him and experiencing his music. Perry is survived by his four children Teresa (Greg) Hurley, Chris Clemons, Tim Clemons, and Olivia (Josh) Brainerd; eight grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister Dolores Ann Lowery; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Freddy and Nell Clemons, brother Jerry Clemons, and sister-in-law Judy Clemons and brother in law Kenneth Lowery. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Perry’s life will be held on Monday July 8, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 East Michigan Ave). Family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to one’s favorite charity.
