Nancy Ruth Winright Schweikert – 62, of Pleasant Lake, Michigan, formerly of Manistee and Kincheloe, Michigan, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, February 5, 2018. Nancy enjoyed every moment spent with her family, especially with her daughter, Beth, and four grandchildren. They enjoyed many sunny, sandy days together at Nancy’s favorite place – Manistee’s Fifth Avenue Beach. She loved bowling, gardening, perfecting and sharing her mother Pat’s incredible pumpkin bread and date bars recipes, fishing, singing by campfire light, and morning coffee shared with her daughter, especially on the back porch. Nancy’s professional career as a medical assistant spanned several years beginning in Sault Ste. Marie where she was honored to be the medical assistant for Dr. John Ockenfels and other providers at Riverside Medical. Her passion was found in women’s healthcare at Sault Women’s Health where her compassion and care for her patients, through pregnancy, childbirth, sometimes devastating loss and illness, brought great joy and comfort to the patients she loved. She continued this exceptional care in Manistee with Dr. Ryan Sullivan until her retirement in 2010. Nancy was welcomed into her heavenly home, and was preceded in death, by her parents, Robert and Pat Winright; her brothers – Larry, Bobby, and Kip Winright; brother-in-law, Dave Goddard; and her “Angel Babies”. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Beth Yeack; former son-in-law, Michael Yeack; former husband, Bob Schweikert; her beloved grandchildren: Madilyn Schweikert, Andrew, Jackson, and Joseph Yeack; five sisters: Patti (Galen) Grulke, Debbie Rice, Jeanette (Kurt) Carlson, Karen Goddard, and Sharen (Lee) Erfourth; sister-in-law, Donna Winright; aunt, Ruth Place; and special friends, Cammie Yeck and Laura Salow; as well as several special brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Nancy blessed all who had the privilege to experience the light of her love, her faith, and her compassion. Services in celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran School – 4900 McCain Rd. in Jackson, Michigan, on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Visitation will begin at 11am until the 1pm Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Galen Grulke. Internment of her cremains will be at Roseland Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy’s memory to the family to assist where needed and to help with the grandchildren’s education. Mail memorials to Beth Yeack – 13657 Nims Rd.
