Lawrence Patrick Smither

Of Lake Columbia, formerly of Allen Park, Michigan passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the age of 59. Larry was born in Dearborn, Michigan on January 25, 1965 to Thomas and Gertrude Smither, whom have preceded him in death. After graduating from Belleville High School he worked for United Airlines for over 30 years and was currently employed at HI-LEX Controls in Hudson. Larry was a kind hearted and liked to be the "Jokester" of the group. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Smither; brother-in-law, James Raupp and niece, Stephanie Raupp. He will be remembered by his sisters, Donna Raupp, Trudi (Gordon) Garth; three brothers, Lee (Laurie) Smither, Robert "Bob" (Tammy) Smither and Mike (Val) Smither as well as many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews and many loving family members and friends. A Service to honor his life will be held at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church (8743 US 12 Brooklyn, MI 49230) on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution in Larry's memory to a charity of one's choice.
