Of Jackson, passed away October 3, 2019. She was born Sept 3, 1932 in Jackson, MI to George and Margaret Davies. She is survived by her five children, George (Sarah) Kaplinski; Katie (Greg) Haley; Patti Kaplinski; John (Susan) Kaplinski; Matt (Amber) Kaplinski, grandchildren, Anya, Ivan and Jenna (Alex) Webster, great-grandchildren, Piper and Calvin; Michael (Anessa) Kaplinski, Aiden and Nora; She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Pierce; many nieces, nephews and loving friends. She was a lifetime member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church. Joanne cherished memories of her extensive travels around the American west, Ireland and Alaska, but always loved coming back to her lifelong home of Jackson. She enjoyed her time working at the Toy House, as office manager for Dr. John Stageman, and running her own framing business, “Framed by Joanne”. She received her Master Gardner degree from MSU. Her hands were rarely still, with needlepoint, cross-stitch, quilting, knitting, cooking, and baking.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place and The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Saturday October 12, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Private burial St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church.
