Chester Coleman Noble, 89, of Jackson entered into rest Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at a Mobile hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Jackson. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens. Rev. Alan Gantzhorn will officiate.
A native of Michigan, Mr. Noble had resided in Jackson since 1963 and spent 33 years in law enforcement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was active in many areas including the choir. Mr. Noble was a veteran of World War II serving in the 8th Army Air Force as a Ball Turret Gunner on a B-17 Bomber. He flew in 30 missions. Mr. Noble was predeceased by his parents, Colon Coleman and Gladys Munn Noble and two sisters Marilyn Jensen and Shirley Lowder.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rebekah Noble, six children, Janet McCants (John) of Jackson, Edward Noble (Sharon) of Jackson, Samuel Noble (Frances) of Miller’s Ferry, Tom Noble (Suzzane) of Jackson, Marsha Walker of Jackson and Frank Noble (Molly) of Prattville, two sisters, Margie Reid of Jackson and Nancy Chapman of Atmore, two brothers, Frank Noble of California and Buddy Noble of Jackson, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include, John McCants, Chris McCants, Chet Noble, Justin Noble, Clay Walker, and Zack Noble.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral hour at the church.
