COLUMBIA - A graveside service with full Military Honors for MSG Theron Tilton “Ted” Garrett, USAF (Ret) Jr., 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow the service.
Mr. Garrett died Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Born on August 23, 1934 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Theron Tilton Garrett, Sr. and Lola Mae Hutto Garrett. Mr. Garrett graduated from Columbia Business College and served in the US Air Force and retired after 23 years, serving two tours in Vietnam. After his military service, he worked for 20 years with R.L. Bryan Company. He was the owner of Mid Tec Company for 15 years. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, and square dancing.
Surviving are his wife, Etta Jane Robinson Garrett; daughters, Lisa Ann Corey of Pawleys Island and Laura Garrett Wilhide of Columbia; grandchildren, Alan Joseph Wilhide and Jayne Lauren Wilhide of Columbia; and brother, Ted Garrett (Sandy) of Spartanburg.
He was predeceased by four brothers.
