Ritchie Edward Long, age 75, of Irmo, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024. A native of Greenwood, S.C., Richie was born December 9, 1948, a son of Roy Edward Long and Mary Ruby Long (Price).
Ritchie proudly served in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks. Ritchie retired from a career in finance.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Susan Rhodes Long. He is survived by his brothers, Donald Long and Marshall Long; his children, Stephen Long, Mary (Katie) Long, and Susan (Libby) Long Alshafie, as well as nine grandchildren.
