Mr. Ray C Simmons

IRMO Memorial service for Ray Carroll Simmons Sr., 78, will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Mr. Simmons died Friday, August 29, 2014. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was a son of the late William Jay and Louise Moore Simmons. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired as Vice President of Human Resources for Pepsi Co. in 1995. He graduated from Jacksonville University in 1960 and served as President of the Alumni Association in 1961. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Eileen Parker Simmons; sons, Ray C. Simmons Jr. (Lynne) of Columbia, Kenneth J. Simmons (Kimberly) of Irmo; grandchildren, Matthew (Tara), Patrick (Blair), Andrew, Jennifer, Abigail; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Colin, Peyton, Gabe, Isabella; brother, Gary Simmons (Frances) of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Linda Krabbe (Fred) of Denver, Nell Harnage (Buck) of Alma, Ga. and Sherry Kubek (Allen) of Flat Rock, N.C.
