A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 12:30 PM, 7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, South Carolina 29063. An interment will occur Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29229.
Pat was born November 12, 1940, in Camden TN, to Alanzo and Katie “Emma” (Seiber) Smith. She was the second of 7 siblings. She was raised in the Camden and Bruceton area attending school in both areas.
Pat met the love of her life at the age of 16 James P (Parker) Hall at the Benton County fair. Hawkeye was the nickname she gave him. As he was in the US Army, they spent four years building a life together. Finally on May 7, 1961, they were married in Leadville, CO.
Just short of a year later, they welcomed their only child, James P (Jim) Hall II, March 10, 1962 In Leadville, CO. For the next 21 years, being a military wife gave her a love of travel. In addition to living in Germany on two occasions, she took tours to France, Spain, United Kingdom, Denmark and Italy (Where she witnessed the Pope speak in the square). In addition, she lived in CO, KS, MI, TN Finally settled in SC with Hawkeye.
Pat worked her life in health care, mainly geriatric care. At the end she was a home health aide. She left that job to care for her mother Emma and mother-in-law in her home.
At the end of Hawkeye’s Military Career, Pat was recognized for her support service to Husband and community.
Pat enjoyed a number of Hobbies and activities. Travel and Square Dancing were her happiest times.
In addition to her son, Pat helped raise her oldest granddaughter, Laura-Leigh Hall, as well as two nephews, Mike and Terry Smith. Her first great granddaughter, Aryana, was raised in her home as well.
Pat was preceded in death by; her parents, Alanzo and Emma Smith; and all siblings, Barbra (Smith) Newman, Alanzo Smith Jr, Nancy Smith, Robert Smith, William Smith and James Martin Smith.
Pat is survived by; her Loving Husband, James (Hawkeye) and had just celebrated 63 years of marriage; her son, James P Hall II (Jim); 5 Grandchildren, Laura-Leigh Hall, James P (Trey) Hall III (Breanna), Thomas J Niles Hall (TJ), Caitla Jean Hall, and Sydney JoAnne Hall (Ben).
3 Great grandchildren Aryana Michelle Hall, Eugene Scott Rabon and JoAnna M Jean Rabon. Along with nieces and nephews, sister in-laws and one brother-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
