Services to celebrate her life will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Burial will be held at a later date at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
Noriko was born January 2, 1940 in Yokosuka, Japan to Tomezo and Chiyo Yamasaki Nagashima. Noriko worked at the Yokosuka Naval Base Exchange where she learned to speak English. In 1964, after marrying a young corpsman, she moved to the United States where she became a United States Citizen in 1968.
Noriko loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers. Her favorite color was yellow and followed her in life with her sunny disposition. For the last 30 years she belonged to various bowling leagues where she was known to bowl many 200 games.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years; Doc Jesse James, two sons; Robert James (Annie), William James (Keonia), grandchildren; Jessica James, Kailey James and Annelese James.
