A memorial service for James Stanley Howe, 75, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. J. Ben Sloan will officiate. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo is assisting the family.
Mr. Howe passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., he was a son of the late James Edward Howe and Mary Doris Bond Howe. He was the devoted and loving husband of Mary Jim Howe. Stan was a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church for 22 years. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he was the owner of Carolina Cyclo Inc. Stan was an avid sports fan who coached and mentored both of his children as well as children of the community. His favorite sport was baseball and he was an Atlanta Braves fan.
Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Mary Jim Howe; sons, Hunter Howe (Jennifer), Morgan Howe (Hannah); grandchildren, Vivienne, Ellie George, and Hank Howe. He is also survived by his brothers, Travis Howe, Dennis Howe, and sister, Denise Criswell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to GOoD Works, 118 St. Peters Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036 or a charity of one’s choice in Stan’s honor.
