Elizabeth Davis Keeler

Elizabeth Davis Keeler passed away on July 5th, 2024 at the age of 97. Born on January 30, 1927 to late Walter Edward Davis, Sr. and Amos Julia Shannon Davis. She grew up in Lower Richland County, South Carolina as one of ten children. In 1946, at the age of 19 she married John Joseph Keeler of Boston, MA. They were blessed with five children.

Elizabeth worked for the federal government at Fort Jackson, South Carolina for over 35 years in finance and accounting. She retired in 1982 and began working for Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in the administrative office. She was always a devout Catholic.

She was predeceased by her husband, John, and son, Paul Shannon Keeler.

She is survived by her children: Cynthia Keeler, Catherine Lucas (William), John Keeler, Jr. (Tabitha), and Anthony Keeler; four grandchildren: Shane Haltiwanger (Amanda), Lee Andrews (Ryan), Paul Keeler and Eric Keeler; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas Haltiwanger, Mandy Haltiwanger and Amelia Andrews; two sisters: Margie Cannon and Betty Stork.

Elizabeth was a wonderful and caring person. Her family will always treasure her and her love in our memories.

A funeral service for Elizabeth Keeler will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, Columbia, SC, with brief reception following. Burial following the reception in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Columbia, SC at 1:30 p.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.
