Darren Eugene Cooke

Simpsonville, SC — Celebration of Life services for Darren Eugene Cooke, age 49, will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 2:00 pm, Saturday August 20, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm.

Darren passed away on August 14, 2022, at his home in Simpsonville, SC of natural causes. He was born on April 27, 1973, in Columbia, SC. He was the son of Thomas A. and Brenda H. Cooke of Chapin, SC. Darren graduated from Chapin High School in 1991 and then served in the US Air Force. Darren was a loving and involved father who supported his family while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Information Management Systems from the University of South Carolina in 2005. He continued his education, earning a Masters of Business Administration from Clemson University in 2014 and worked as a project manager.

Darren was a caring, committed father who will forever support his daughter’s dreams and ambitions. His family, faith, and friends meant the world to him. Darren’s smile lit up every room he entered and he lived life to the fullest. He was a friend to all who knew him and shared all that he had with others. May he rest in peace.

Surviving are his daughter, Hailey Jan Cooke, his former wife and friend, Jil Jones Cooke, of Greenville, SC, parents, Thomas A. and Brenda H. Cooke of Chapin, SC, brother, Michael Thomas Cooke and wife Kelly Herndon Cooke of Chapin, SC, nephew Chase Michael Cooke of Mt. Pleasant, SC, niece Carly Cooke Todd and husband Michael Stephen Todd of Charlotte, NC, and uncles, aunts, and cousins all of whom he loved.

Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, South Carolina, 29063, will oversee the arrangements.
