Upon leaving high school, Bruce served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Bruce received his GED during his service in the Corps. After being honorably discharged, he became a cross country truck driver. His route took him from Texas to L.A., as well as New York to Florida. He hauled everything from cosmetics to swinging beef. He eventually reached a point in his career of owning and operating his own rig. After an accident while unloading resulted in a surgery on his back and neck, his trucking days unfortunately came to an end.
After his truck driving career, Bruce obtained a job with Phar-Mor pharmacy, Columbia, S.C., where he met his future wife, Deborah F. Zeigler-Coleman of Chapin, SC. They would have been married 33 years December 16, 2023.
Bruce is survived by his brother, David Wyatt Coleman of West Columbia, S.C.; only daughter, Tammy Farmer of Summerville, S.C.; granddaughter, Zoe; as well as other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bruce is predeceased by his mother, Betty Coleman of Columbia, S.C.
Bruce’s greatest and proudest achievement of his life was being a Marine, Semper Fi!
