It is still hard to believe Tony is gone.  He was the best brother in law you could ask for.  He was so concerned on how we were doing every time we saw him.
He was so devoted to his wife Tricia and would give her the world if it made her happy.  He tried to shield her from the ugliness of the world.  He loved his two sons and was so proud of both of them.  We all have such awesome memories of the time we were given with Tony.  It is not for us to ask why he was taken so young.  Maybe God needed someone to fix his computer and knew the best to call on.  We will greatly miss you Tony and hope to see you again one day. Rest in peace.

No one is ever prepared for the loss of a loved one but when you lose someone as special as Tony it's even that much harder.  You are such a special man and will be greatly missed.  Until the day I see you again--remember I love you!!

We did not know we would lose you so soon, but the love you gave us in 53 short years is enough love to last us our entire lives.

You were a man of few words, but when you spoke, you spoke it was from the heart.

There was never a dinner you did not pay for nor a kind note telling us how much you loved us.

Life was never about you, never about your wants for needs, but always about us.

To hear you laugh or see you smile would brighten our days, 

We could sit for hours together never saying a word and that was ok because we shared a common, unbreakable bond, called family.

You knew the meaning and importance of family, always reaching out to us in our time of need, celebrating our accomplishments and grieving with us during our time of loss.

As the years went by, our family love grew stronger and stronger.

Not a week would go by without a call from you checking in ensuring all was well.

You were always a great big brother, but more importantly a better husband and father.

We are left with a hole in our hearts, but the fond memories of you will, in time, help us heal.

Even in the end, you thought of us, telling us to be happy.

You often said, you and your wife had a great run, and you did, big brother, you did.

You can look down on us and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

You lived your life on your terms and passed with no unfinished business- you knew it was ok to go home.

Thank you, big brother, for 53 wonderful years.

You never stopped loving us, and we will certainly never stop loving you.

Words can not express the sorrow I feel in the passing of Tony. He was like a brother to me and I thought the world of him. He was devoted to my sister and his sons and was the most generous person I have ever known. I will always remember the fun we had this summer sitting around the fire pit and the fun times we always had when we visited them in South Carolina. You were taken to soon the reason we don't understand. Rest in peace with love.

Tony was one of those few that could light up a room when he entered it.    I first met Tony when I was in the field as an NCR CE, 11 years ago and Tony was instrumental with his encouragement and confidence in my abilities when making the decision to move on to a Level-2 position later.   I never met anyone who knew Tony and did not like him.   For me in this line of business we do, he was the ultimate Professional and I learned so much from him about the right way to go about doing this job.  On a personal level he was a great friend and as many have said, very giving of his time.     When I moved to Peachtree City, we always kept in touch and spoke on the phone frequently, bouncing job related issues off each other and also having a good time laughing at things about life in general.    One thing I will especially miss is his humor and how he could inject that into any situation and make your day so much better for just having spoken with him.

sorry to here about tony I'm Brian Stewart's sister Yvonne I pray you and your family, you will see him again in heaven. Tony will be missed but not forgotten.

Sadly, Tony and I lost touch over the years. But I have fond memories of us cousins playing together whenever the Salyers clan got together at reunions or when our families were able to get together on vacations. My prayers go out to Patricia, his sons and the rest of Tony's family.

I only met Tony a few years before the Columbia plant closed.  He was working in one of the labs where I had a small server farm and we started talking. We had worked on some similar equipment in the past so we had a lot to talk about.  He was also very helpful and I always stopped by to say hi when he was in the lab. I was sadden to hear of his passing. Please except my condolences.

Tricia and Jim,  I am so sorry for your loss, I've had so many flashbacks of the years I spent living across the street from all of you and the time I spent with your family, your house was like my second home and I loved all of you and still do.  It breaks my heart that we have lost another great Salyer, all of you are in my thoughts and prayers, may you find the peace you need to get through this difficult time.

I have never known a person to so embrace and help someone. He encouraged and built upâ€¦ every time I didn't know something, he always did and he never, ever made me feel like I didn't measure upâ€¦
He was always so patient.

A very special thing for me about Tony was that he never said goodbye. When you talked to him on the phone he ended the conversation in many ways but never with good bye even if you had said it. I wasn't quite sure how to handle that at first and then I remembered my Dad saying that his Mom would not say good bye because she believed that meant she would never see you againâ€¦

When I heard that Tony had passed away I thought â€œI didn't even get to say goodbyeâ€, and then I remembered, and smiled...

Tony was a true friend whom I have known since our days in Dayton, OH.  His generosity shown though when I had my motorcycle accident in 2012.  Tony visited me several times during my stay at the hospital and Rehab during my recovery.  Would that I could have done the same for him.  God rest your soul Tony! God bless your family! - Peter J. I always called him Tony "The Tiger" in which, we often joked about. I have learned so much from him in so many ways. He was a great colleague, mentor and friend. I was so sorry to hear of Tony's passing.
I worked with Tony for over 20+ years of my 34 years at NCR and will miss him greatly. He was a good mentor, teacher and friend. We shared an interest in collecting military arms and memorabilia and he once gave me a gift of a large volume on the history of Marine Corps.
Now every time I look at it I will be reminded of a great person and will always have him in my heart.

Although I never met Tony, I work with his sister Trish and I am sorry to hear of his passing.  Best wishes for the family as you face this challenging time.

I only knew Tony for a short 8 months.  But, like with anything else Tony did, it was intense.  His focus was always on the future, and how we could do better together.  I will struggle keeping up the energy we had, and to try to complete his plan in his honor.  .In being the center of the communications that went out to NCR, and receiving back all the reply's from individuals that knew him in the past, I read with great interest various different interactions.  The common vein was always: Tony helping and coaching others through difficult times.  We all lost a true friend and an incredible colleague.

I met Tony in person for the first time earlier this year.  He had helped me numerous times over the phone and email before that.  My first statement was, â€œman, you look different than your picture!â€  He laughed heartily and shook my hand and said, â€œthat was probably 25 years agoâ€.  He was forever giving of himself and he will truly be missed!  It was an honor and a pleasure to have known him!

I was lucky enough to have worked with Tony over the years.  
He was a great man and a great teacher.

Gruff on the outside but such a teddy bear of a guy! 
He cared about his family, friends and work and took it all very personally.
As I read the great remarks about him, all I can say is what a testimony to what a person should be as a father, husband and friend!
Such a great employee and a true friend to me. I will always remember the good times with Tony.

I am so sorry to hear of Tony's passing. I only met him a few times but could tell just by all the friends and family that were around him and speaking with him briefly that he was a good person with a kind heart  and was loved by many. My heart, sympathies, and prayers, go out to the whole family.

I'm saddened to learn of my uncle's passing, but it won't be difficult for me to recall fond memories of him.  Although he and his family moved to South Carolina, I always enjoyed being able to spend a full week with him during summer vacation.  The highlight of the trip always seemed to involve him.  He truly was a kind and thoughtful person despite his comical ways of expressing his love.  He wasn't always a man of very many words when I was around him, but when he did speak, everything he said was worth listening to.  I'm going to miss you Uncle Tony.

Tony was the perfect brother-in-law.  Always interested in what you were doing, kind, inclusive, knowledgeable and full of life.  His passing is a shock and still has not been fully absorbed within my mind.  

The energy he brought to out visits and gatherings will sorely be forever missed.  May the mercy and grace of The God above all gods, the Lord of Hosts, The God of Israel, be with you now in your eternal rest.
