Martha Brixey

Louise, as she preferred to be called, was born on September 13, 1927 to Arthur W. Marchbanks and Olive Catherine Nevergall in Osage county, Oklahoma. She moved to Iowa Park in the 11th grade and was a lifelong resident of Iowa Park from that point forward. She graduated from Valley View High School in 1945.

Louise was blessed enough to find love twice in her life. She married Fritz Tennant July 2, 1954. Together they had two children, Jan and Larry Tennant. Years after Fritz’s passing in 1995 Louise Married Tommy Brixey on January 21, 2012.

Louise has been a member of the Kamay Baptist Church since 1943. She was a homemaker for most of her life, and loved to paint and do needle work in her spare time. Louise also loved crossword puzzles and was fond of them her whole life.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents Arthur W. Marchbanks and Olive Catherine Nevergall; her first husband Fritz Tennant; her second husband Tommy Brixey; her siblings Marie, Jack and Francis Marchbanks; and her son Larry Tennant.

Surviving relatives include her daughter Jan Horton and husband Bennie; grandchildren Larry Sean Donaldson, Cody Horton, Sean Horton and wife Tracie; great grandchildren Cowan and Leona Horton; Step children John Brixey and wife Kathy; James Brixey and wife Debbie; LeeAnn Beall and husband Charles; and Jeryl Brixey and wife Christie.

Services for Louise will be conducted by Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. A visitation is scheduled for 5:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Dutton Funeral home with a funeral service at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Kamay Baptist Church, Kamay, Texas. Burial will be at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Cemetery following the funeral service.
