Donald Floyd Cook, 79, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Iowa Park. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park with Dr. Jon Eckstein, pastor, officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.
Donald was born January 23, 1934 in Graham, Texas to Charles E. and Naomi Morean (Stevenson) Cook. He graduated from Graham High School and attended Ranger Jr. College, East Texas State University, Midwestern State University, and Wayland Baptist University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, earning the medals of American Defense, Army Good Conduct, Army of Occupation (Germany) and Expert Weapons Qualification. He married Sue Ewing Cook on July 31, 1953 and lived in Houston and Odessa from 1983 to 2004. He retired to the Wichita Falls area where he had lived most of his life.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Surviving relatives include his son, Steve Cook and his wife, Teri of Houston, Texas; daughter, Donna Williams and her husband, Curtis of Iowa Park; five grandchildren, Lauren Greer, Jennifer Cook, Dustin Williams, Jeremy Williams, and Troy Williams; three great grandchildren, Rody Williams, Collier Williams, and Emma Greer; one sister, Joann Crum of Graham, Texas and one brother, Jerry Cook of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park Building Fund. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
