Morrison, Sterling Alexander Whitfield Age 78, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at his home in Port Hood surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Edward Watts and Laura Jane (Burke) Morrison. He was a member of St. Stephens/Jubilee United Church, Port Hood. He is survived by his children, Edward, Katherine (Ted MacDonald), Alexander (Julie Lynn Stanhope), Beulah (Gary Chandler), and Robert (Nadine Bollig); grandchildren, Jessé, Maggie, Isaiah, Sterling Noah, Moriah, Jude, Isaac, Eden, Peyton, and Rowan. He is also survived by sisters, Aileen, Margaret, Lorna, Matilda, Eloise, Janet and brother-in-law, Kenny; many nieces, nephews, Cheryl Morrison. He will be dearly missed by the mother of his children, Patricia Pond. He will be fondly remembered by Angela, Steve and Crystal, who thought of him as a father. Sterling was predeceased by his grandsons, Jacob Morrison and Joel Chandler. Visitation will be held in Port Hood and Area Resting Place on Saturday, January 18, from 7–9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20 at 11 a.m. in St. Stephens/Jubilee United Church, Port Hood with Pastor Maggie Plant and Pastor Hugh Morrison co-celebrating.
