She was a loving wife to James "Buddy" for 58 years. A caring mother to James (Kay), Charlotte (Ken) Dalton, Marlene (Paul) Holmes, Darlene (Angus L) Campbell, Murray (Bonnie), Edy (Rick) Hesse, Sandy (Cathy), Ernest, Wilma (Gerard Cummings), who blessed her with 17 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Faithful sister to Yvonne (Laurie) Lunn, Simon (Sylvia), Theresa (Neil) Smith, Ernest (Shirley), Charles (Colette), Lillian, Phyllis (Benny) MacKinnon .
She is predeceased by daughter, Marlene; son, Ernest (in infancy); and brothers, Ernest and Simon and sister,Lillian (in infancy).
With an open heart and open arms all found a warm welcome in to her home. Creating a second home to many of her children's friends, expanding her family unit tenfold.
Throughout the years her interests included bowling - real and digital, bingo, cards with her friends, and spending time with her family. Although most will remember her for legendary and often sought waffles.
With a growing family of her own she was known to host many a gathering to welcome a new bundle of joy or joining of two hearts, demonstrating a little love can go a long way.
Many will have their own memories, kind words, or favorite stories all of which will be treasured to those that knew her.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Thursday March 26 from 7-9pm and Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating . Burial at a later date in St. John’s United Cemetery, Strathlorne.
