Lucy Catherine "Cathy" Lemal

Lemal, Lucy Catherine "Cathy" - 73, passed away on January 1st, 2013, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness on July 27th, 1939, she was a daughter of Catherine Poirier and the late Claude Poirier. Cathy was a member of St. Matthew's United Church, Inverness. She worked as a CNA in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital for 34 years, before retiring in 1993. She was very devoted to her friends and family and her grandchildren meant the world to her. Cathy enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, crossword puzzles and in the summer, planting beautiful flowers around their home. She and her husband would sit out on their swing, just enjoying the summer evenings. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Arthur Lemal; sons, Robert (Kim), Inverness; Marcel (Judy), Welland, Ont.; grandchildren, Carly, Caitlin, Shannon and Patrick Lemal. She is also survived by her brother, Albert (Donna) Poirier; sister, Betty MacNeil; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan 7th in St. Matthew's United Church, Inverness from 10-10:45 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., Pastor Maggie Plant celebrating. Burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Strathlorne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Cathy's memory may be made to St. John's Cemetery Fund, Strathlorne or to Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
