It is with sadness that we announce the death of Kevin Alexander MacKay at his home in Port Hawkesbury on 23 June, 2020. Kevin was born on the 19th of December, 1961 in Inverness and lived there until his graduation from high school. He was a son of Mavis (Cummings) MacKay and the late Alex MacKay
Kevin was a bricklayer and farrier by trade, but his true passion was working with horses. He spent many years in the US, travelling with his beloved animals. Kevin also worked the last number of years in Fort McMurray and fished with great friends when in Inverness.
Besides his mother, Kevin is survived by siblings, Keith (Marla) Otterbrook, N.S; Carman, Port Hawkesbury; Lois (Bobby), Inverness; Lori & Kelly, Toronto. He is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews, Carl and Johnny (Keith), Rhyann & Darcey (Carman), Erica, Kyle, Dean, Lisa and Maria (Lois); and grandnephew, Jack Alexander.
Kevin had a heart as big as the world itself and shared his love and kindness.
He lived his life to the beat of his own drum and through his all too short journey, made many true and loyal friends. We thank you all.
Plans for interment will be announced at a later date. Donations in Kevin’s memory can be made to Inverness Raceway or a charity of your choice.
