In 1979 he started driving ambulance with “Angus The Barber” for the Inverness Ambulance Service at the age of 17! Scott went on to spend 44 years working in, and servicing, his community. He was with the Inverness Ambulance Service until its end in 1997, then transferring to the EMC, where he worked diligently and joyful until his very last day. In the very same year he joined the Ambulance Service, he also joined the East Lake Ainslie Volunteer Fire Department. Over time he also joined the Inverness Volunteer Fire Department, even taking on the role of Chief for 5 years from 2005-2010.
In 1983 Scott found the other love of his life, Reneanne. Scott had nothing but stars in his eyes from the day they met. One year later, on October 20, 1984, he married his one and only. But the man that he was, he not only found a wife, he also became a father to two little girls, Coralee and Mandy. Scott was more than a bonus dad, as he loved the girls like his own, and treated them just that way. Scott was later blessed with Jenna, the apple of his eye, and his family was complete, for now.
Scott rode his motorcycles, his four wheelers and his trucks, enjoying many rides and rallies with the guys over the years. This was one of his favorite things to do.
He made everyone laugh. Scott was always ready with a joke, a hug, a shoulder to cry on. Nurses loved seeing his face when the ambulance bay doors opened.
Scott was SOP at the EMC; was a mentor to many young men and women coming up in the industry, and a valued colleague to paramedics across the province. He was awarded the Long time Service Award and the Exemplary Service Medal. Scott leaves behind a Legacy, not only with his wife, Reneanne and his children and grandchildren, but also with his brothers and sisters in service. Scott passed on September 19, 2023. A giant hole has been left in our hearts, our town and our community, but Scott will live on forever in our memories.
