To my dear cousins, I am so sorry to hear about this sudden loss.  Donald Angus is etched in my mind with his big muscles and even bigger heart.  Family reunions or The Highland Games were always more fun with when he was there.  I can hear his chuckle and see his eyes light up with pride whenever he spoke of one of you.  You were his heart and made him so happy.  Many prayers and much love, Beth (Florence and Dan's daughter)

Dearest Donnie and family,  I am truly saddened at your loss.  Your dad, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend was one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure to have known and worked with. I looked forward to seeing him on the job as he always was a bright spot in the day.  I will miss looking forward to breakfast with him, no matter how seldom  the opportunity occurred.  He will forever be in my thoughts.

Donald Angus or Big Donnie as I have always called him, was an amazingly patient and kindhearted man. As I look around, I see his handiwork in just about every room. Whenever I hear fiddle music, I smile; remembering how he savored fiddle hour. I can see it as though it were yesterday. He would lean way back (somehow, never toppling over) in those kitchen chairs, his foot tapping, an O’Doul’s in one hand and a cookie in the other.
I frequently tell tales of the man who fed the woodchucks, kept heated cat beds for strays and even bought hot, rotisserie chickens to feed the turkey vultures. How his love for sweets, led to my obsession with Vachon caramel cakes. And how I loved every minute spent at 3 Constitution Dr.
I am deeply saddened by his untimely passing, but he will live on, alongside DiDi in the fondest of my memories.  To the MacPherson family, I am forever in your debt for the love that you have shared with me. 

Dear Diane, Chrissy, Donnie, Annabelle, and Mary Catherine,

As city children, Jean and I loved visiting our two families of MacPherson cousins in the summer, running through wide fields, picking raspberries, and playing cards at night.  What a great reunion ten of those cousins must have had when Donald arrived!

I cannot imagine how sad this must be for all of you to  say goodbye to dear Donald Angus.  He loved his family and all his animals so much.  He was strong,  hard-working, and kind hearted.. ..always busy doing another project, porch, kitchen, or renovation for someone.  We will all miss him.  

May God reward him for his goodness, and may your sweet memories be a comfort.

My heart and mind are overwhelmed with sorrow at the loss of our beloved friend and family member, Donald Angus MacPherson.  Just 18 days after our beloved Bill.

We have been blessed with over 40 years of wonderful memories shared together with Donnie and Diane, Donald & Chrissy.   That evening we spent with beautiful Di Di and her friends trying to prove you could do the “mashed potato” dance to any song will forever be a part of my heart’s memories.

I am beyond grateful that Bill and I had this incredibly kind, caring, thoughtful, good natured, considerate, and gentle man’s presence in so many of our lives happiest times, visits to their home in Maine, laughter-filled games of auction and of course the beautiful and joyful moment our daughter, Marlo and their son, Donald were married in Las Vegas.  How can we ever forget when Donnie came into the chapel dressed in his Elvis wig.   How much we loved you Donald Angus for all the ways you brought joy to our lives.

They will be missed and loved until the Twelfth of Never, and may we find peace and comfort knowing these two special men, Donnie & Bill are together once again.    With Love and Sympathy, Mary Adams

Big Donnie was a 2nd dad to me before he became my father-in-law. I was truly blessed to have in my life for over 40 years & then blessed again to marry his son who is nothing short of an exact replica of his warm hearted and loving dad.   His loss is a great one and the lives of many who were touched by him will never be the same. I love you, Dad, and may you rest in peace with your beautiful Didi.

My sincere condolences to the entire family. Don and family were my neighbors for more than 30 years. There is not a kinder and more generous family anywhere, and taking the lead with those traits was Don. He defined the term “good neighbor”, always willing to lend a hand or stop and chat. He was always good natured with a smile and a friendly hello. 

I am now lucky to have his son and daughter in law as my neighbors and friends, and Don’s legacy has continued with them.

Don personifies the saying “ only the good due young”.  The world has lost a truly good man. Heaven is richer for it.

It is with such a heavy heart that I write to you all today. I am so sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. Donald Angus was a one of kind, hardworking, generous man who always made everyone  feel welcome. I will always cherish the memories I have of Donald Angus and  the visits  with all of you in NH , Maine and on Lake Ainsley. I love hearing all the stories of Donald Angus and Diane’s time in Boston with my parents. 
Please know that we are thinking of you during this difficult time and wish we could be there with you. We are sending our love to help heal your hearts.

I was so sorry to hear on Saturday evening that Donald Angus passed away, and so suddenly.  There are not many of the old clan living in the BlackRiver, Riverville area.     Donald Angus was so kind, full of humor and ready to help wherever he could.    I can't believe that I am away from home right now, isn't that fate, when DD, Hughie and Andrew had died,  I wasn't home either.   I guess that was the plan for me. Diane, Chrissy, Donnie, Annabelle, and Mary Catherine, I was so sorry to hear that Donald Angus had passed away. The last time I saw him was in the late 1960s at Uncle Duncan MacPherson's home in Dorchester, but when I joined Facebook I was able to chat with him about genealogy, old pictures, and animals. He had a big heart!  May your wonderful memories of Donald Angus bring comfort to you in the days ahead.

He is survived by his wife Diane, daughter, Mary Chrisitne (Stuart Murray) MacPherson and son, Donald Joseph (Marlo) MacPherson II, kids, Matthew and Megan, both from Londonderry N.H.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Allen, Hughie (Audrey) and Andrew (Myrtle); sister-in-law, Sharon (Edwin) Tompkins and his granddaughter, Diane (DiDi). Surviving in addition to his wife and children are sisters, Annabelle (DD) Gillis and Mary Catherine (Stewart) Gillis, along with many nieces and nephews.
