The Angels came to carry our darling momma to heaven on Thursday, October 12,2017 at 5:30 pm. She passed away in the presence of those she loved, her children. Anna Isabel MacIntyre Chisholm was born on August 21,1925 in Inverness to the late John Dan MacIntyre and Jessie Mac Master-MacIntyre.
Momma grew up in a large, loving family of 6 boys and 5 girls in Inverness. She loved to sing and dance and was a devout Catholic.
During the Second World War, she worked as a Riveter in the Halifax Shipyards and as a Dietary Aid in Camp Hill Hospital for Veterans. She took great pride in her contribution and support to our men in troops. She married James Roderick Chisholm on February 14,1946 in St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Halifax, and moved back home to Inverness. Momma's door was always open and the teapot always boiling on the coal stove. She had a wonderful sense of humour, a heart of gold, a witty tongue, a listening ear, a sharp mind and hugs and kisses for anyone in need. A smile that would lift your spirits and a singing voice of an angel. Her Catholic faith was her refuge and strength all the days of her life. Momma loved going to mass, reciting the rosary, she enjoyed seeing the many faces during the collection of offerings in church and participated as a reader and a Eucharistic Minister.
As a mother of 10 children, she was never too busy to tell us that she loved us, never forgot a birthday, sang lullaby's to us with more than enough hugs and encouraged us to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
Everyday she had to enjoy her strong cup of piping hot tea with Carnation milk.
She continuously enriched our lives with her constant caring and sharing.
