March 30th, 1960 - April 13th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Anna Marie Basker Campbell, after a battle with cancer. She showed such strength, bravery, and grace in her illness, and passed on April 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Mom was born on March 30th, 1960 to Theresa and Colin Basker in New Waterford, NS before the family relocated back to Inverness in her early childhood. Mom showed her truest self to everyone she met, stranger or friend. Always greeting you with a smile, her kind and gentle nature became well known. Anna valued the simple things in life. Walking the beach looking for new additions to her impressive beach glass collection, tending to her garden, and enjoying the tranquility of a cup of tea on her beloved deck, where she would take in the sounds of the waves on calm summer days. Her greatest pride in life was her children, and her family was finally complete when she became a grandmother to Jackson, who brought her such joy and brightened her world. You can look for her in the sunsets that she loved so much, as we know her warmth will be forever felt.
Growing up, we were always nurtured, comforted, and guided by her unconditional motherly love. She had a love for children that lead to her providing childcare for many families over the years, and she created lifelong bonds with all of the children who came to her care.
Predeceased by her parents, Colin and Theresa Basker, infant brother, Galen Benedict Basker, stepmother, Mary Basker, and nephew, Garrett Basker. She is survived by her husband, Johnny, children Janna (Ryan), Trent Campbell (Charlee), Colin Campbell, and Gaelyn Campbell (Clinton). Her brothers, Stephen Basker (Linda), Colin Basker (Kathy), Norman Basker (Ann), Chris Basker (Lesa), her half brother, Colin "Chickie" Cyr (Linda), as well as her sister-in law, and caretaker Mary, and the entire Campbell family, her grandson, Jackson Bayler Crowell, who was the bright light at the center of her universe.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society. Funeral will take place at Stella Maris Parish on May 1st at 11AM.
