Smith, Alexander “Sander”, It is with great sadness we the family announce the passing of Alexander “Sander” Smith of Broad Cove on Sunday November 1, 2015 in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Sander was born on December 30, 1928 to the late John Angus and Catherine (MacDonnell) Smith of Broad Cove. Socializing with people was Sanders biggest highlight in his life. He loved everybody and everybody loved him. Sander is survived by sisters, Kaye (Vernon Sexton), New Richmond, Quebec.; Mary Campbell, Waltham Mass; Sr. Marie Smith, Trenton; Mae Ann Beaton, Port Hood; Donna (Wesley) MacLean, Scotsville; brothers, Peter (Catherine) Smith, Natick Mass; John Harold (Josephine) Smith, Glendale. Sander was predeceased by sisters, Margaret, Hughena and Theresa and two sisters in infancy, brothers, Donald, Charlie and James. Visitation will be held in the Inverness Funeral Home on Thursday November 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11a.m. in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove with Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Alexander’s memory may be made to Inverness Cottage Workshop or to Inverary Manor, Inverness
