Wai was born in China on May 9, 1948. She married Wing Kee Lee in 1975. Seeking a better life, Wai and Wing left family and friends for better opportunities and settled in Evansville, IN. She was owner of Lee's Garden Restaurant and along with her husband Wing, they worked hard to build their business in Boonville, IN.
Wai loved her family and will be deeply missed. Wai is survived by her husband, Wing Kee Lee; her daughter Jenny Windler (Mark Windler); her son William Lee (Stephanie Lee); her grandchildren Jake Windler, Luke Windler, Nixon Lee, and Cora Lee.
Visitation will be held on June 19, 2023 from 2 – 4 PM at Alexander North, 4200 Stringtown Rd, Evansville, IN, 47711.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation. The family of Wai Fong Lee wishes to thank Suburban Hospice for her care.
