Susan, a prominent artist in the community, has sold her paintings privately throughout the United States for a number of years. Her formal training includes study, with full scholarship, at Herron School of Art and Design, a school of Indiana University. Susan also had the privilege to take lessons with such renowned artist as Floyd Hopper of Indianapolis and Ann Abgott of Longboat Key, Florida.
Susan is a member of the International Society of Marine Painters and the Indianapolis and Longboat Key Art Centers. Susan has also worked with individual patrons on commissioned portraits, beloved animals, and various waterscape scenes, and has won numerous awards.
Susan’s art reflects as she says her “love of color and light”. Often her painting’s subject matter comes from her personal travel, highlights include: African Safari, Western Europe, Mallorca, Spain, the former Soviet Union, and the British Isles as well as travel throughout the states.
Susan was known for her sense of style and ability to make everything around her beautiful. Most recently she enjoyed spending time with a select group of friends attending the symphony and enjoying fine dining. Susan was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Susan is survived by her children: Lynda (James) Neese, Kristina (Scott) Brannan, Michael (Nicole) Leslie. Her grandchildren: Justin (Courtney) Weintraut, Ryan Harrison, Izabel Leslie, Sam Leslie and her 4 great grandchildren: Kya and Ryder Harrison, Henry and Gavin Weintraut.
