Indianapolis - 81 died December 6, 2021. Scott was born to Raymond J. and Audrey Stanley Browning on December 14, 1939 in Nortonville, Kentucky, a coal mining town. He graduated from Decatur Central High School (1957), served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked in property management and real estate in Indianapolis. He owned three Century 21 offices (Robbins, Lane, and Browning). He enjoyed reading, playing cards, and traveling. He was honest, generous and kind. He was a 50 year plus member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church where he served as president of the Board of Deacons and was an Endowment Trustee. He was a member of the Columbia Club, 50 year member of Mystic Tie Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Indianapolis Board of Realtors.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Virginia Hunter Browning, son, Charlton Scott Browning (Michelle) grand children, Taylor Elizabeth Browning (Matthew Hand), Lauren Michelle Browning, Hunter Scott Browning, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings: Margaret Jean, Wilma Faye, Barbara Allen, Donald W, Raymond Darrel, and Sandra Sue.
Services will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, 418 E. 34th St. Calling 11 to 1. Service at 1 PM. He will be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Scott’s name may be made to Tabernacle Presbyterian Church.
