Rosemary Ballard (Ingalls), age 82, of Metropolis, Illinois went home to heaven on Saturday, November 11 at Southgate Nursing Rehab surrounded by several family members. Rosemary was born in Indianapolis on July 1, 1941 to the late Harry and Mary (Benton) Ingalls. Rosemary attended Seven Mile Baptist Church in Metropolis, Illinois. Prior to moving to Illinois, she attended Redeemer Baptist Church in Indianapolis as well as Mars Hill Baptist Bible Church and The Baptist Church.
Rosemary retired from Wayne Township food services. Earlier in her life, she worked as an Activity Director for a local nursing home. She also took care of many children in her in-home daycare.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Rose (Terry) Beasley, Marvin (Jill) Ballard, Jody Ballard, Rebecca Ballard and Amanda Ballard; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Donna Ferguson, Jessie Sloan and Ronnie Ingalls; and brother in law, Bill Ballard Sr.
Rosemary was preceded in passing by her husband, Marvin Ballard; children, Debra Jean and Diana Jane;
parents, Harry and Mary Ingalls; siblings, Linda Ingalls, Ju-Ju Smith, Sally Short, Billy Ingalls and Harry Ingalls Jr.
A visitation for Rosemary will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM. Rosemary will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis immediately following the funeral service. Pastor Mike Abbott will be officiating.
