Robert "Bob" Ernest Wilson

Robert (Bob) Ernest Wilson, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away November 18, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born November 23, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The son of the late Aldus and Mary Wilson. He served in the US Army during Korean War from 1954-1958. He and his wife, Mable, owned and operated Wilson's Market in Stilesville and Hazelwood Indiana. He worked in the grocery business with Standard and Preston-Safeway, also with Standard Coffee, he worked for Indy Unlocks, including other places, and his last job was with O’Reily Auto Parts. Bob Loves the Lord and was a faithful servant. He is a current member of Gracepoint Church in New Whiteland, IN and was formerly member of University Heights Baptist Church for many years. Bob loved to socialize, bowling, games, reading, speaking at gatherings, and most of all, spend time with his family and friends. He had a most loving spirit, He will be truly missed by all. Heaven is gaining an angel. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, son Ray Shearer, a couple grandchildren, and his brother Allen Wilson and sister Arlene Tomlin. Bob is survived by, children; Steven (Kimberly) Wilson, Chuck (Kimberly) Wilson, Gary (Margo) Wilson, Denise (Greg) Cook and Tim (Kimberly) Wilson, Bruce (Victoria) Shearer, Sally (David) Rice, Vanessia Cook, Darla (Thomas) Lee, and "several" beautiful grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids (too many to name). A visitation for Bob will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Family Funeral Care-Rockville West, 5791 Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224. A visitation will occur Monday, November 25, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 5791 Rockville Rd. A celebration of life service will occur Monday, November 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
