He attended Purdue University and ITT Technical Institute. He was employed as an IT Specialist at Methodist Hospital/IU Health retiring in 2012.
Bud served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Pakistan during the ‘60s. He was a member of the American Legion, Scottish Rite Cathedral, and Fraternal Order of Freemasonry.
Bud was an avid photographer and enjoyed spending hours taking pictures of his family. He was a member of the 2nd Presbyterian Church and guided daily by his strong faith in God. He enjoyed making others smile with a quick joke or funny story.
Bud is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne (Merkel) Tust; children, Wendy (Brian) Popovitz of Lebanon, Indiana, Amy (Kelly) Kerkman of Clearwater, Nebraska, and Robert (Meghan) Tust of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Matthew Popovitz, Tim Popovitz, Elizabeth Popovitz, Andy Kerkman, Allison Kerkman (fiance Sam Michels), Emma Kerkman, Kaia Tust, and Harlan Tust; sister, Mary (Greg) Ehlke of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin; and nieces, Erin and Alyssa Ehlke.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 11-1 PM followed by a service at 1 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240. Interment will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, Wisconsin.
